preparation before H1B arrives

Have you started scanning the potential employers, positions, pay? Have you decided on your expected salary from your emploer? The H1B docs may say a number - the actual salary negotiated will most likely be different. You have some more home work to do.... Sorry, I keep giving you more and more work - hey it is better to get a head start instead of getting surprises - when actual event occurs.

We are in Aug right now. The H1B for 2006 opens in October 1st. 2005 for ~65,000 visa approvals. I guess your papers can make it to the 2006 quota fine. I want to see that you are getting placed in the project before the Thanks Giving holidays. If we miss that, we risk the placement dragging until Jan 2nd week (after all the holiday season - Thanks Giving, Christmas, New Year). So, we have to be prepared in every possible way by October 2005.

Until October, plan on spending 3-6 hours every working day to be working on technology stuff. This will get you prepared for the upcomming interviews. How is your multiple resume going on?
